The 37th edition of MCE – MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT the leading international trade exhibition dedicated to domestic and industrial installations has closed on an enthusiastic high note, registering the participation of more than 157,447 trade visitors. Every two years this event brings together the manufacturing and distribution arms of the plumbing, heating, sanitary ware, air-conditioning, refrigeration, sanitary technology, hardware, water treatment and bathroom sectors.
Energy saving and efficiency, the common thread running throughout MCE 2010, have hit the nail on the head; and both these concepts tie in with the different core themes of the exhibition: heat, cold, water, energy. A confident mood pervaded MCE together with enthusiasm among qualified professionals, above all for the many new ideas in terms of innovation and research showcased on the 2,300 exhibiting companies.

MCE registered an all-time best especially for foreign visitor numbers confirming its world leadership in the sector, with major increased figures from Europe (France, Germany, Greece, Spain and Switzerland) and Mediterranean Countries (Algeria, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey), including China, Poland, Slovenia and Russia. Italian trade visitors convened from all over the country.

The Company offered its range of water meters for hot and cold water, both standard and pulsed output version, for remote reading and dosing systems, single and multi jet, and helical vane Woltmann type; extra care and attention were paid to highlight the change from the previous standards CEE 75/33 and the new type approvals, according to the standards MID (module B+D), issued by the Notified Body, following the provisions of Directive 2004/22/CE, turned into Italian Law n. 22 of 02/02/2007. Furthermore the company presented its heatmeter range for the calculations of heat consumption in domestic houses and in industrial sites, as well as the OSCAR coin operated meters, aimed to communities and outdoor campings; such meter is available both as mechanical only version (OSCAR II plus, totally functioning without power supply), and as electronic version (OSCAR III plus powered by battery and with a free setting of delivered litres.

NEWS - The company G. GIOANOLA, thanks to its 30-year-experience in the field of coin operated water meters, presents its new coin operated measuring device "OSCAR III° e-lectro".

"OSCAR III° e-lectro" is an electronic coin operated water meter which supplies the water, as the previous model "OSCAR II° plus", by delivering the exact amount of litres pre-set by the administrator, and not by just a timing; this is possible thanks to the internal EEC type- approved volumetric water meter, which enables also a correct reading of the total water flowed through the meter. This represents an advantage, as the administrator will always be sure that the meter will deliver only the exact pre-set amount of water, and furthermore he will be able to change, at any stage, this parameter, to customize his own network to his real requirements, keeping under control the management and consumption costs.

May we remind that our range of coin-operated water meter OSCAR has the characteristic to be equipped, directly inside, with the electro-valve to control the water flow; this valve usually must be purchased separately and installed externally, as in the competitor's products, whereas, in this case, it is already supplied, saving money and time.

The know-how gained during this time enabled us in 1958 to start with the production of water meters. G. GIOANOLA produces a complete line of inferential water meters, single and multi-jet type with wet and dry dial or liquid filled sealed counter as well as full bore helix Woltmann-type meters with interchangeable or fixed mechanism to suit the needs of practically any end user.

All the water meters are EEC approved in Class B and in the more restrictive Class C in accordance with EEC directive No. 75/33 and ISO No. 4064 and can be provided with the EEC official seal. The best quality of all our products is achieved thanks to the direct control over all the productive stages. The production cycle starts with the control of incoming supplies, proceeds with the storage, identification and proper handling of all materials, both at the warehouse and during production, and continues with the machining of the brass parts on the automatic transfer machines and the automated assembly of the components.

The quality of the moulded pieces, along with the precision of the robotized machines in assembling them, ensures that all the parts fit together perfectly.

This mean minimal friction between the gearwheels that make up the meter's measuring element and, consequently, a high degree of precision and sensitivity even at the lowest flow rates. SISMA water meters

Lastly, all our water meters undergo hydraulic tests for pressure and precision on electronic test benches approved by the Metric Office of the Ministry of Industry.

This continuous quest for product quality, quality consciousness of all of our personnel from the research development department through to the assembly and test departments together with improvement of production technologies and up-dating of machinery and equipment, enabled G. GIOANOLA to achieve the UNI EN ISO 9001 quality management standard certification issued by the DNV (Det Norske Veritas) Institute.

GIOANOLA obtained, during 2009, water meter MID approvals (module B+D) and issued by the Notified Body in compliance with the MID EEC Directive n° 22/2004/CEE, converted in Italy into Law n° 22 dated 2nd February, 2007 (approved meters will have EEC seal until maximum 31/10/2016, i.e. the expiry date of all the approvals according to EEC Directive n° 75/33).

Our products are in compliance with Italian Law n° 174 dated 06th Aprile, 2004, covering components in contact with water suitability with human consumption and health regulations.
